Executive Coaching & Coach Training for Leaders

Improving teamwork with 5 simple questions

Teamwork starts with connection. Connection starts with meaningful conversation.

The quickest and most effective way to improve the performance of your team is to have everyone at their best. Sounds so simple! To get to that point, you need to know each other at a deeper level. This is a really easy exercise that'll take your conversation much deeper - and quickly.

Give your team a few days to prepare for this activity

Let them know that you'll be bringing everyone together, for EVERYONE to share with the team their answers to the following questions:

  1. I work best when I'm...
  2. I learn by...
  3. I feel energised when...
  4. When I'm stressed you'll know because I...
  5. The best way for you to connect with me is a conversation about...

Go on, give the activity a crack with your team. Ask everyone to be present and to listen. See what shows up. Get your team to decide what they want to do with the info once they've shared it (because it's all going to be important).

This activity builds leadership, strengthens connection and means more meaningful conversation - all good things. I'll have more questions for you next time.

Ps. This squirrel had something important to say to me on our recent holiday...and that's how we connected.
