 What is coaching?

Coaching is a partnership between client and coach in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximise your potential.

My role as coach:

  • Partner with you in achieving your goals
  • Encourage you to stretch and challenge yourself
  • Champion opportunities and your potential
  • Help you to explore your behaviours, thinking, perspectives, habits
  • Be a sounding board when you need one
  • Always maintain confidentiality
  • Adhere to the International Coach Federation’s code of ethics

Your role:

  • Create the coaching agenda based on personally meaningful coaching goals
  • Identify what success looks like for you and/or your team
  • Assume full responsibility for personal decisions and actions
  • Use the coaching process as a window to new opportunities and fresh perspectives
  • Take courageous action in line with your personal goals and aspirations
  • Engage your big-picture thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Take the tools, concepts and principles from coaching and apply them to effective forward action

How to get the most out of your coaching program:

My aim is for you to get as much out of coaching as possible. Here’s some really simple tips to make sure that you can:

  • Take the time to think about – and write down – your answers to the questions in the intake questionnaire. If you are unsure of any of them, I can help you with these in our first session
  • Prepare for our sessions. Before every session, take 5-10 minutes to think through and become clear on what you would like to focus on in our time together
  • Be open to growth, changes, breakthroughs in new areas
  • Be willing to experiment with new approaches
  • Enjoy our coaching sessions. We are allowed to have fun. You set the tone and I’ll respect it
